So as many of you may know my New Years resolution was to start having Sunday Dinner! We all live crazy busy lives and we often miss out on that old school family time. I wanted to bring our family closer and start to create new memories and traditions. Unfortunately we live in a time where tradition and family values are easily forgotten or pushed aside for all the other stuff that fights for our attention.
I know that it may be difficult to come up with ideas for large family meals every Sunday so I thought I would share with you what we are eating here in our home. I will update this post regularly so keep checking back to find new recipes and ideas.
I hope that you will think about opening your home to your family not for a holiday or special occasion but just to spend quality time with each other. I encourage you to sit down and talk, put aside the every day distractions and love each other. Sunday Dinner ever Sunday might not be in the cards for you but give some thought to doing it once in a while. I promise you won’t be sorry!
Here are some of the dinners we have enjoyed:
~Guinness Beef Casserole with Bacon Cheddar Biscuits and Mashed Potatoes
~Burger Bar with Homemade Parmesan Potato Wedges
~Whiskey Peach Smoke Turkey with Carrots, Stuffing and Mashed Potatoes.
“Laughter is brightest in the place where the food is.” – Irish proverb
